Red Devils Set To Tour Asia

This isn't the first time The Red Devils have gone east to Asia. In 2001, they played matches in Malaysia's capital Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Singapore. The tour will also supply massive commercial opportunities for United.

United's chief executive David Gill had this to say: "We are delighted to be taking our team back to Asia where we know we have such a huge and committed fan base. This tour gives us the opportunity to give something back to our fans and the manager and players are all looking forward to it."

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson is also a fan of Asia, saying: "There's a huge buzz about touring the Far East. Manchester United is something really special to people out there and all the players are excited about the welcome and the atmosphere we can expect." 

The last time Sir Alex took his boys over there in 2001, United took on the 'Malaysian Allstars' team in Kuala Lumpur, a 'Singapore League XI' and the Thai national team.
