O'Neill Plays Down Keane Move

The 33-year old midfielder has supported The Hoops ever since he was a little boy and close-friends have claimed that the Irishman would like to play for the Glasgow outfit before he decides to hang up his boots.

But Celtic's manager Martin O'Neill insists that he will be staying with the Red Devils for at least one more season:  "The opportunity is pretty remote," he said.

"Roy Keane has said that he would like to play for Celtic before the end of his career," the former Leicester boss admitted.

"I'm not sure he would want to leave Manchester United though when next year will be a big one for them in trying to win the English title back from Arsenal."

Cork-born Keane, signed from Nottingham Forest in 1993, recently made a dramatic return to international football for the Republic of Ireland after storming out of the World Cup 2002 in Japan/South Korea under former boss Mick McCarthey duo to poor preparations but has decided to return for current boss Brian Kerr.
