The absence of Manchester United wonderkid Cristiano Ronaldo from Luiz Felipe Scolari's Portugal squad to face Sweden in a friendly has dampened the winger's hopes of playing in Euro 2004 this summer. The 19-year old pulled out of the squad duo to injury and Scolari isn't impressed at all.

in a friendly has dampened the winger's hopes of playing in Euro 2004 this
summer.
The 19-year old pulled out of the squad duo to injury and boss Scolari isn't impressed with Ronaldo's attitude to international football at all. Twinkle-toes Ronaldo pulled out of a training session with the national team duo to nothing but a minor thigh injury that World Cup winning manager Scolari wasn't convinced about. "Cristiano Ronaldo is an unknown for me. I've seen him play more for Manchester United than here." "There are a lot of doubts about Ronaldo," "I want players who are as keen to play for their country as their club. If you can play with a knock for your club, you can do it for your country." |
