A number of Manchester United players were involved in international games yesterday as most countries look to warm-up for Euro 2004 in the summer and prepare for their World Cup qualifiers that start soon. Darren Fletcher and John O'Shea both completed a full 90 minutes.

A number of Manchester United players were
involved in international games yesterday as most countries look to
warm-up for Euro 2004 in the summer and prepare for their World Cup
qualifiers that start soon.
Youngsters John O'Shea and Darren Fletcher played a full 90 minutes for their respective Scotland and Republic of Ireland whilst Roy Carroll came off the bench for Northern Ireland at half-time. Irish defender John O'Shea was involved in a 0-0 draw away to Poland that saw future Manchester United midfielder Liam Miller earn his first cap for Brain Kerr's outfit. Darren Fletcher's young Scottish side lost 1-0 away to Denmark whilst Roy Carroll kept a clean-sheet when he came on at half-time for Northern Ireland who faced Serbia and Montenegro at home. Cristiano Ronaldo was involved in Portugal's 2-2 draw with Sweden despite reportedly pulling out of the squad with a minor thigh injury that angered boss Luiz Fillipe Scolari. |
