The Reserve and Academy Player of the Year trophies were presented prior to kick-off against Chelsea on Saturday. Welsh midfielder David Jones and American defender Jonathan Spector were the duo who collected the awards.

Manchester United presented the Reserve and Academy Player of the Year Awards prior to the kick-off of the 1-1 draw with Chelsea.

Teenage midfielder David Jones was awarded with the Reserve award after a terrific season for United's second-string. The Denzil Haroun Award was presented to the Welshman, who has netted 5-goals for Ricky Sbragia's side, infront of a full house at Old Trafford and should the youngster fulfil his potential, it will not be the last time he is in front of capacity crowd at the Thearte of Dreams. Jones will be hoping to life further silverware on Tuesday, as the reserve side take on Manchester City at Old Trafford in the final of the Manchester Senior Cup.

Defender Jonathan Spector was selected as the Jimmy Murphy Young Player Award, in a season where the young American's game has developed significantly. The 16-year-old was named for United on the bench against Blackburn Rovers last season, which is evidence of how highly-rated Sir Alex Ferguson sees the teenager.

Congratulations to both players on excellent seasons, and the duo are certainly a pair to watch for the future.
