Manchester United manager has blasted referee Rob Styles' decision to send off duo Darren Fletcher and Cristiano Ronaldo during United's 2-0 win over Aston Villa at Villa Park. Fergie has dubbed the decisions as 'bizarre' but has praised his team's effort in the final game of the season. "You can't even comment on those decisions. It's bizarre." said Ferguson "But the seriousness of it is that those players will miss the first game of next season which is disappointing." "Otherwise, I think our performance was very good." Rob Styles, who has sent off the most players in this Premiership season out of every official, decided to book Darren Fletcher on two occasions after throwing the way the ball and lunging in on a Villa Player after 75 minutes. United were then reduced to nine men with five minutes left to go after Ronaldo got frustrated when finding out he'd been flagged offside and cheekily chipped Villa goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen. But despite all that, Ferguson praised his side: "The pace of the game was good, and our play from the back to the front was excellent." "That was our best performance since our away win at Everton in February." |
