Leeds Reveal Unsuccessful Smith Bids

After getting relegated from the Premiership and into the Nationwide Division One, Smith along with most of the Leeds team are set to depart from Elland Road to clear a massive debt.

"The offers by Manchester United substantially undervalue Alan Smith's position as a Premiership player," said a Leeds spokesman.

"He is worth far more than what Manchester United are prepared to pay for him both offers were rejected immediately."

The Red Devils' initial £3.5 million bid followed by their second £5.5 million offer were both turned down. 

Smith has been valued at around £10million by the Leeds board and is wanted by a number of English and Italian outfits.
