Giggs Stakes a Claim in Wales Win

Mark Hughes' Welsh outfit capped two international friendlies off win a win despite being held to a goalless draw in Oslo earlier in the week.

Giggs nearly opened the scoring from the corner spot when his audacious attempt sailed over Canadian 'keeper Pat Onstad but was cleared off the line by Atiba Hutchinson.

But Wales did deservedly break the deadlock through Cardiff City's winger Paul Parry. His head met Craig Bellamy's tremendous cross to put Hughes' side 1-0 up after 21 minutes.

Moments later Giggs yet again came close to goal but this time his well struck free-kick came inches to within making it 2-0.

With just two minutes to go Martyn Margetson, making his Wales debut, denied QPR midfielder Marc Bircham making it a 1-1 finish.
