A number of Manchester United players were involved in England's impressive 6-1 win over Iceland earlier today at The City of Manchester Stadium. Duo Gary Neville and Paul Scholes both started the game in a flat out 4-4-2 formation after Sven-Goran Eriksson decided to ditch the diamond.

Duo Gary Neville and Paul Scholes both started the game in a flat out 4-4-2 formation after Sven-Goran Eriksson decided to ditch the diamond formation. Phillip Neville and Nicky Butt were among nine half-time substitutions. Paul Robinson and Jamie Carragher were the only starters that played more than 45 minutes Two goals from Everton striker Wayne Rooney, a double from substitute Darius Vassell along with goals from Michael Owen and Wayne Bridge sealed the win for England. Heidar Helguson nodded in somewhat of a consolation goal before half time. Paul Scholes had a golden opportunity to end his England goal drought of 3 years in the first half but completely fluffed his close effort over the bar. Full time: England 6 - Iceland 1
