England Cruise to Victory
A fine second half performance from the English national team saw off fellow Group B opponents Switzerland earlier today in their 2nd game of Euro 2004 in Coimbra.

Goals courtesy of Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard confirmed the 3-0 victory that puts Sven-Goran Eriksson's side in poll position to go through to the latter stages of the tournament.

United's Gary Neville and Paul Scholes both started the game but midfielder Scholes didn't see the whole game as he was suffering an ankle prior to the clash.

Yet again, Scholes was sacrificed with 20 minutes to go by Owen Hargreaves. Gary Neville, like always, put in a mature and solid performance at the back.

Everton's Wayne Rooney opened the scoring after 23 minutes and added another on the 76th minute. Some may judge the goal as an own goal as it hit Swiss 'keeper Jorg Stiel before finding the back of the net. Liverpool's Steven Gerrard added a third 6 minutes later.
