Ronaldo Reduced to Tears as Greece Crownded Champions
Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo was reduced to tears as his side slumped to a 1-0 defeat by the hands of Greece in the European Championship final in Lisbon.

A single goal from Angelos Charisteas moments before the hour-mark in Lisbon was enough to make sure the battling Greek outfit lift the crown.

Youngster Ronaldo was kept quiet for most of the game and had a chance to be a national hero with 15 minutes to go but fumbled his close range shot over the bar.

Portugal boss Luiz Felipe Scolari missed out on the chance to lift the World Cup and the European Championship within 2 years whilst Otto Rehhagel celebrated great success.

"It was an unusual achievement for Greek football and especially for European football." admitted Otto Rehhagel, the Greece coach.

"We took advantage of our chances. The opponent was technically better than us but we took advantage of our chances. We should have made it 2-0."

Absolutely no-body expected Greece to reach the latter stages of the tournament never mind win the prestigious trophy. Well done from all at ManUtdWeb.
