Manchester United will be looking to put the disappointment of their pre-season tour of the United States of America behind them and win this year's Vodafone Tournament, that's being held at Old Trafford. Day one kicks off with Manchester United taking on Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven.

Manchester United will be looking to put the disappointment
of their pre-season tour of the United States of America behind them and
win this year's Vodafone Tournament, that's being held at Old Trafford.
But unlike the tour of America, The Red Devils will put out their array of superstars who were involved in the recent European Championships in Portugal. The game will be played over three days and will have a league format. Teams will be awarded the usual 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw in addition to bonus points for every goal you score. Day one kicks off with Manchester United taking on Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven after Boca Juniors of Argentina face Japan's Urawa Red Diamonds. United have always had a good relationship with Dutch league runners-up PSV Eindhoven. Jaap Stam and Ruud van Nistelrooy have both made the transaction from Eindhoven to Manchester in the past. South Korean pair Ji-Sung Park and Young-Pyo Lee will both miss the tournament due to international duties whilst Holland's Euro 2004 captain Phillip Cocu picked up an injury. However latest striking acquisition DaMarcus Beasley will be available for Guus Hiddink. Sir Alex Ferguson is likely to include Ruud van Nistelrooy and Louis Saha, who both miss the USA trip. Liam Miller could get his first taste of action in a United jersey. |
