Howard Explains Bolton Fumble

Since his move from US outfit Metrostars last summer, Howard has emerged as a successor to the great Peter Schmeichel in-between the sticks after many other goalkeepers have failed to fill the Dane's big-boots in a United jersey.

But America international Howard hasn't produced some of the fantastic saves, stops and blocks he pulled out of the hat for The Red Devils last season for this season.

Howard has now admitted of his latest mistake this season, the fumble against Bolton Wanderers. The game ended 2-2 after David Bellion grabbed a late equaliser.

"I came for the ball and got a bit of a clattering. I fumbled it, but thought I was going to be able to get it back. I should have been able to get it back but circumstances then took over." said the PFA Goalkeeper of the year.

"The finger is going to get pointed my way and I understand that. I have to look at it and be honest."

He added: "Had this been my first season, I am sure that nobody would have been looking in my direction," he told The Manchester Evening News.

"Given that it is my second, I think some of the things have been magnified."

"People are going to pile pressure on me in this second year. That's how it is. But, in terms of where I am at mentally, I have no issues."
