Commercial director Andy Anson has announced
that Manchester United will tour Japan and China this pre-season due to an
overwhelmingly large fan base in Asia.
The Red Devils are supported by many people in various Asian countries and will now tour their in a bid to regain fitness before the new 2005/2006 Premiership season. "We have some key international territories and Asia is one of them," confirmed Anson. He added: "We have millions of mad, passionate fans in that part of the world and I think we're under-serving them." It is likely that United will play Japanese outfit Urawa Red Diamonds, who were meant to play at Old Trafford this summer but the game was called off due to adverse weather conditions. This forthcoming tour will end 2 consecutive pre-season tours of the United States of America. |
