Five United Players Named in England Squad

Five Manchester United players have been included in Sven-Goran Eriksson's squad to face Spain on Wednesday at The Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid.

Defenders Gary Neville, Phil Neville and Rio Ferdiand and along with attacking duo Alan Smith and Wayne Rooney have all made the grade for Wednesday night's friendly.

Former Old Trafford winger and current England captain David Beckham has also been included despite a slight rib injury. Wayne Bridge, Matthew Upson and goalkeeper Chris Kirkland have all been recalled.

Injuries to Ledley King and Sol Campbell means the defence is looking weaker than normal whilst there is no room for Newcastle's Kieron Dyer.

Commenting ahead of the game, England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson had this to say: "We are lucky to have many excellent players in central defence with Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, Jamie Carragher and Matthew Upson coming back in now too. All of them are top, top players,"

"Also Wayne Bridge has come back from injury which gives us some interesting options on the left side."
