Reserves Extend Unbeaten Run

Manchester United's reserves came behind from a 1 goal deficit to see off Merseyside club Everton 3-1 at Altrincham's Moss Lane in midweek courtesy of goals from Chris Eagles, David Poole and an own goal from Eddy Bosnar.

Ricky Sbragia's second string are now 7 games unbeaten and are flying high in the Reserve League North, sitting in 3rd place, just 2 points off the top spot.

Some sloppy defensive errors from Young Player of the Year Jonathan Spector handed the Toffees an early lead. Victor Anichebe capitalised and slotted home past a hapless Tom Heaton.

The reserves then showed the first team how to play football as Chris Eagles converted a dazzling move. Great linkup play from David Jones allowed Eagles to put a save beyond Richard Wright with a perfect execution.

With only moments to go before the interval, United doubled their advantage. Kieran Richardson's cross/shot was tipped into the direction of a poaching David Poole, who slammed home.

After United struke the woodwork on two occasions, Eddy Bosnar made a hash of clearing Richardson's cross and put the ball past his own 'keeper. It was not Richard Wright's night.

Everton could have pulled back a mere consolation via the penalty spot, however, Tom Heaton stretched to save Nick Chadwick's attempt.
