Manchester United 'keeper Luke Steele has extended his loan move to Coventry City until the end of the season. Sir Alex Ferguson paid an initial fee of £500,000 to Peterborough United for the bright prospect.

Coventry City have extended the loan of Manchester United 'keeper Luke Steele. Sky Blues boss Peter Reid has negotiated a deal with Sir Alex Ferguson to keep the youngster at Highfield Road until the end of the season.

Steele is highly regarded as a bright prospect by the coaching staff at Old Trafford and Ferguson is a big fan of the 20-year-old. This is evident by the £500,000 he paid to Peterborough United, with the fee possible of rising to £2.25million depending on how successful the England Under-18 international is in the Premiership.

With Carroll, Howard and Ricardo all ahead of him in the pecking order, a loan spell will reap the rewards for Steele. He already has 16 appearances to his name in the Football League Championship, conceding 28, and is picking up some rave reviews from Coventry supporters.

He joins Manchester United team-mate Eddie Johnson on loan at Coventry. Johnson has 5 goals this term with the Sky Blues sitting 18th in the Championship table. Good luck to the Red Devils duo.
