Ferguson Can "Smell the Winning Mentality"

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that he can "smell the winning mentality" of his United side following a great run of form in November and signs of repeating the form in December.

After a dodgy and jittery start to the Premiership season, things are now starting to take their toll at Old Trafford after encouraging wins against Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, Charlton Athletic and West Brom in the league.

Speaking after his team's 3-0 win over Southampton, Sir Alex Ferguson said: "You can smell the winning mentality all right. The confidence is back, the training is going well and we are looking forward to games."

"Clearly, what we have to do is keep is going because we still have a long way to go yet."

"We are still nine points behind Chelsea and pulling that back will be a mammoth task but maybe things will have changed a little by New Year's Day."
