Paris Saint Germain are said to be monitoring the progress of Louis Saha. The Le Championnat club are on the hunt for a new striker, and are interested in signing the Frenchman on either a temporary or permanent basis.

Paris Saint Germain have been linked with an unlikely swoop for Manchester United forward Louis Saha. The striker, sidelined until the New Year with injury, is now fourth in the Old Trafford pecking order for attack and may be interested in a move to his native country in the likelihood of guaranteed first-team football.

PSG are thought to be scouring the Premiership for a strike partner for Pauleta. and Saha is now on the short list for the Le Championat club. A further injury picked up on international duty has left a disappointing first year at United ending in frustration, and a clean break in France could throw new life into the injury-ravaged career of Saha.

Sir Alex Ferguson does not want to lose the £12.5million striker, who made a controversial move from Fulham to United in early 2004. However, the Scotsman would listen to a loan offer from PSG which would give Saha some much needed first-team practice as he looks to break into the Red Devils first XI ahead of Van Nistelrooy, Smith and teenage sensation Rooney.

The year has ended in contrasting circumstances to how it began for Saha. When he arrived at Old Trafford he was touted as the man to partner Van Nistelrooy in a deadly strike partnership. High-profile signings and injuries have meant he has struggled and, in my opinion, a loan move could be extremely beneficial.
