Spector Joins Blackburn Rovers

Manchester United youngster Jonathan Spector has completed a loan deal at Blackburn Rovers until the end of the season to bolster Mark Hughes squad through Christmas and throughout the remainder of the season.

The recently appointed Welsh manager and his side are languishing in and around the Premiership trap door and are in dire need of fresh faces at Ewood Park, with Spector and Genk's South African international Aaron Mokoena being prime-targets.

18-year old Spector, winner of last season's Young Jimmy Murphy Player of the Year award, has briefly tasted first-team action, making his Red Devils debut ironically against Rovers.

"Hopefully it will provide Jonathan with the chance to play first team football and he will benefit from that more than he would playing for our reserves," said Sir Alex Ferguson.

"It is a fantastic move for him and we are sure he will come back a far better player.

"We feel Jonathan has an outstanding chance of becoming a first team player with Manchester United and this move will allow him to accelerate that development." he added.

This deal completes a hat-trick of loan offloads following Paul Tierney's Bradford signing and Paul McShane's transfer to Walsall.
