Ferguson Heaps Praise on Giggs

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has praised match-winner Ryan Giggs' performance and his team's during the tough tough 1-0 away victory over Aston Villa last night.

The Welshman netted a superb strike late in the first-half to swipe maximum points at Villa Park as United continue their surge up the Premiership table. Everton have now been over-taken by The Red Devils and are currently just one-point behind Arsenal, who entertain Newcastle tonight.

Giggs has been rested in recent weeks by Ferguson and the break seems to have revitalized and rejuvenated the winger, who also claimed a goa in the Bolton Boxing Day clash.

"Giggs was a tremendous threat and he brings tremendous penetration." stated Ferguson

"That was our hardest away game of the season and it was a fantastic game of football, end-to-end with lots of good passing. We showed lots of character and guts and we weren't going to lose."

The Scotsman continued: "That's the hardest away game of the season. They could have got something out of the game but then we could have scored a couple more."
