Benfica Confirm Kleberson Interest

Giovanni Trapattoni, the boss of Portuguese outfit Benfica, has revealed that he is interested in capturing the services of Old Trafford flop Kleberson. 

The Brazilian international has failed to live up to his £6 million price tag since his move from Paranaense to Old Trafford during the summer of 2003, and rumours suggest Kleberson could exit The Premiership only one and a half years after making the move to Lancashire.

Kleberson has been linked with an array of different club from across the globe, including various Brazilian teams and German outfit Stuttgart.

Chances of holding down a future place in the Brazilian national team and indeed the Red Devils squad are becoming increasingly thin due to the number of lengthy injuries Kleberson has sustained, hampering first team appearances.

Newly-installed boss at Benfica, Italian Trapattoni, claims he is in talks with the midfielder, admitting: "He is one of the best foreign midfielders," 

"Already, we spoke and we are going to see if we have the possibility to hire him. The player wants to come, the businessmen also but not the club."

"Negotiations are not always easy but the deal is not at a standstill."
