Manchester United v. Chelsea - Player Ratings

Howard - A few good saves. Looked really nervous! Couldn't really blame him for both goals.

G Neville - Poor crossing. Looked decent defensively.

Rio - Hasn't looked as sharp since he has returned from his injury.

Silvestre - Again, we have seen more concentration lapses from him! He was unlucky not to score though. Could have done much better to handle the Chelsea goals though. Looked rather clumsy and was too slow to react.

Heinze - Solid. Poor crossings though.

Fortune - Not as good as he was in the last leg!

Scholes - Decent performance.

Keane - Fantastic tackles! His passing was great too! Best player on the pitch!

Giggs - Created space and posed a threat throughout the game.

Ronaldo - His form is really improving. Created a few chances too.

Saha - Thought he was decent considering the fact that he was on his own, up against the best defense in the Premiership. Needed to hold the ball up better though. He has been injured quite a bit and has only just got back playing and training, in a month or so he'll be MUCH sharper.

Like the last leg against Chelsea, we deserved a penalty with this whole Fortune thing, but it seems that we can't comment about unfair decisions anymore-whilst other teams can! Wrong decisions have been made against ALL teams! We see blatant refereeing mistakes all the time. But it seems that we aren't allowed to comment on them anymore so I won't mention it!!!

Fergie has said that it wasn't Howard's fault for either goal and has criticized the defense. And I, personally, don't think it was his fault for the goals as the defence could have (and should) have dealt with them. He made some good saves though! I was just wondering, as we had first team out, why wasn't Carroll playing instead of Howard? I mean, a lot of those players didn't play in the CC until that match. Or maybe it was because he had played Howard throughout the CC competition and thought he deserved a chance. This leads me to thinking that if Carroll was 'keeping, would we still have conceded 2 goals? Or maybe more? I really think it's time to buy a new 'keeper!
