Neville Receives Sven's SOS Call

Manchester United's Phil Neville has received an emergency SOS call by England boss Sven Goran Eriksson in order to solve the defensive crisis they face going into Wednesday's friendly with Holland.

Chelsea duo Wayne Bridge and John Terry were the latest players to pull out of the Swede's 24-man squad with Rio Ferdiand, Ledley King and Matthew Upson being earlier absentees.

Only Gary Neville, Ashley Cole, Glen Johnson and Jamie Carragher were the original defenders included in the squad but Wes Brown accepted a call up last night with Phil Neville receiving one earlier today.

Crystal Palace's Andrew Johnson and Middlesbrough's Stewart Downing, who are the only two new faces in Eriksson's army, are expected to earn their first England caps.
