Van Nistelrooy: I Need Games

Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has admitted he lacks sufficient match practice and sharpness following his return from a three month injury as a substitute against AC Milan in the Champions League defeat earlier this week.

The prolific goalscoring Dutchman missed the Red Devils' previous twenty matches, but made his come-back against the Italians at Old Trafford with half-hour on the clock.

Some say van Nistelrooy was rushed back into action too early in such an important match, missing a few half-chances he may have converted when fully sharp.

"You could feel that I've been out for a while so games now are what I need." he said.

"I am physically fit. I've had a week's training and now we move on from here."

Regarding chances at the return leg at the San Siro, he added: "We believe in ourselves."

"It will be hard; to lose here means we have to go and win there (in Milan) and that will be a big thing for us."
