A number of young Red Devils have been in international action over the past few days, representing their respective countries in either the European Under-21 Qualifying Groups or the 2nd Qualifying Round of the Under-19 European Championship.

Winger Kieran Richardson helped his England U21 side keep the pressure on fellow Group leaders Germany with a comprehensive 2-0 win over Azerbaijan

Two goals in the first half from John Welsh and Dean Ashton was enough to sink the group strugglers in front of a Riverside Stadium crowd. Richardson, on loan at West Brom, managed to complete just under an hour after picking up a hamstring injury.

Ramon Calliste played 45 minutes in Wales' 1-0 defeat at the hands of Austria. The Austrians were looking for sweet revenge following Wales' 1-0 home win on the weekend.

Meanwhile, Reserve and Youth star Richard Jones has been in U19 action for Martin Hunter's boys over the past few days, guiding them to 1-0 wins of Denmark and Sweden. Goalkeeper Tom Heaton has yet to feature however.
