Ferdinand Denies Chelsea Talks

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is adamant that meeting Chelsea's chairman Peter Kenyon in a London restaurant was purely coincidental and did not talk about football.  

Ferdinand claims he met his agent Pini Zahavi in London's Carpaccio, an Italian restaurant, and happened to bump into the former Red Devils chairman by chance.

Both Zahavi and Kenyon have been in the centre of major tapping rows in the past, including Zahavi introducing Sven Goran Eriksson to Kenyon when the Blues were in search of a new manager and also the notorious private meeting with Arsenal's Ashley Cole.

However, Ferdinand put the record straight, stating: "I went to meet my agent at Carpaccio in Chelsea and Mr Kenyon was there. I had no idea he'd be there. People can believe it or not but that's the truth. It was in a public place. We said a brief hello and did not discuss football. I've got no intention of leaving United and that's that"

The 26-year-old added: "I love it at United. I don't want to play anywhere else. 

"There has been talk last season and this about other clubs being interested in me, but I only want to be a United player"
