Ferdinand: "I Will Sign"

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has reiterated his desire to remain as a Red Devil by asking for the Old Trafford faithful to be patient as negotiations are ongoing.

The reason for the lengthy time spent discussing terms is because agent Pini Zahavi is out of the country, claims Ferdinand, who is rumuored to have requested over £100,000 per-week.

"I want to stay at Manchester United," confirmed the England international. "I have said that from the beginning"

"They can take time and this is one of those situations. My agent is out of the country, which has slowed things down a touch but hopefully they will be speeded up in the coming days"

"I am happy at Manchester United and I want to sign but these things do not happen overnight." he added.

United have also been in contract talks with Roy Carroll and Ryan Giggs over the past few weeks, and are all expected to ink deals imminently.
