United Snatch Mikel from Mourinho

Manchester United have announced the signing of Nigerian central midfielder John Obi Mikel, 18, from Norwegian feeder-club FC Lyn Oslo.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho stated a few months ago he struck gold to when he saw Mikel in action after impressing on a trial at Stamford Bridge.

The Portuguese tactician also claimed he had a done deal with Lyn over the midfielder, who has now committed himself to United. He said in February: "He seems like a mature man and a player with a lot of experience," 

"He's Nigerian, plays in Norway and next season he will work with me and play in the reserve league. If he grows the way I predict, we've found gold"
