Former United defender Henning Berg has predicted great things for Manchester United's latest acquisition, John Obi Mikel. The Nigerian youngster inked a four-year deal recently and the 18-year-old can't wait to get started.

Former Red Devils defender Henning Berg, now coach at Norwegian side FC Lyn Oslo, has predicted great things for Manchester United's latest acquisition, John Obi Mikel. The Nigerian put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal last week and is touted as one of the finest talents to emerge from Africa and certainly has the backing of Berg. "Mikel is an amazing player and the biggest talent for his age that I have ever seen," claimed former defender Berg. "He is better than both Steve Gerrard and Michael Owen were at that age and he can achieve great things." United had been tracking the 18-year-old for a number of years, shrugging off competition from Chelsea on the way to securing Mikel's services. The youngster is excited about his
future as a Red Devil, stating: "I am pleased to get the chance to play for one of the biggest clubs in the
