Manchester United have finally completed the signing of goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar from Fulham today for an undisclosed fee. The Dutchman inked a two year deal at Old Trafford.
It's only been a matter of time for the deal to be completed after the news
broke out to the media last Sunday. Only international duty for Holland has
delayed van der Sar in putting pen-to-paper on a two-year deal.
A delighted Sir Alex Ferguson said: "Edwin brings a wealth of experience to the team. He is an international goalkeeper with proven class."
He has been touted as the replacement to the
great Peter Schmeichel and is relishing the prospect of being a Red Devil.
"I am delighted to have signed for Manchester United, one of the most famous clubs in the
world," he said
"I'm looking forward to joining my new team-mates to start preparations for the new season, which promises to be one of the most exciting of my career"
