Manchester Untied starlet Christopher Eagles is set to join Charlton Athletic on a season long loan this week, according to reports over the weekend.
Eagles, who has been touted as 'the new David
Beckham', may not be given the first-team chances promised at Old Trafford next
season, despite impressing in a loan-spell with Watford.
The Hornets could be poised to launch a bid for the young midfielder, but Alan Curbishley will have the financial edge.
His Red Devils debut was in the Carling Cup victory at Leeds United at the age of just 17 but has been pushed down the midfield pecking order.
Charlton Athletic fan Luke Gabriel backs Charlton's alleged approach for the youngster, he said: "From what I've heard, Eagles could progress into a nice little acquisition. This transfer could confirm the rumour indicating Matt Holland is leaving.
"Holland seems to be getting on a bit now and we need someone with energy in the middle and right side. He could also prove to be good competition for Rommedahl on the right wing which in turn could force him to actually do something worth watching!"
