Richardson Wants United Stay

Kieran Richardson has revealed he would prefer to prove his worth at Old Trafford rather than move to West Bromwich Albion, the club he helped massively avoid relegation last season.

The 20-year-old's impressive performances for the Baggies earned him a place in Sven Goran Eriksson's squad that toured the USA earlier this summer and netted twice on his debut.

Whether the winger's services are required by Sir Alex Ferguson still remains a doubt, however, Richardson is eager to prove his worth as a Red Devil.

''If I get to 23 and I am still not getting through, then I may have to move,'' he stated. ''But at the moment I'm not thinking about that.

''I am contracted to United and that's who I want to play for.''

Baggies boss Bryan Robson has candidly expressed a willingness to sign the England international.
