Foster Joins Watford On Loan

Watford have snapped up Manchester United's latest promising acquisition, Ben Foster, on a season-long loan in a bid to gain first-team experience.

The 22-year-old, signed by the Red Devils a few weeks ago from Stoke City for an initial fee of £1 million, was expected to make a swift exit out of Old Trafford on-loan and Vicarage Road is his desired destination.

Hornets boss Adrian Boothroyd beamed: "I'm delighted that Ben's joining us on a season-long loan. There was lots of competition from other clubs for Ben but we've managed to secure his services and we're delighted to add him to the squad.

"It gives us extra strength in depth in a key position and I believe competition for the goalkeeper's jersey is just as vital as every other place in the side."
