Gabriel Heinze inspired a youthful Manchester United XI to a 3-1 victory over Wrexham in a Kevin Russell testimonial match as the Red Devils continue with their successful pre-season.
United were mostly victorious during their recent
tour of Asia, picking up three victories in the four games against Hong Kong National Team,
Beijing Hyundai, Kashima Antlers - who United lost to and Urawa Red Diamonds.
Player of the Year Gabriel was omitted from the touring squad due to commitments with Argentina in the summer but made a successful comeback along with skipper Phil Neville, Liam Miller, Kleberson and Giuseppe Rossi.
Rossi, Liam Miller and Fraizer Campbell completed the victory despite a minor setback from Danny Williams. Italian youngster Rossi opened the scoring with a fine shot before Liam Miller doubled the lead witha simple tap-in after fantastic work from Kenny Cooper.
Danny Williams pulled a goal back before the interval but subsitute Fraizer Campbell rounded off the scoring late on.
Final Score: Wrexham 1 - 3
Manchester United:
