Ferdinand Finally Signs New United Deal

Rio Ferdinand has finally put pen-to-paper on a four-year contract, ending massive speculation linking the England international defender with a move out of Old Trafford.

The United faithful expressed their anger at Ferdinand's reluctance to commit his future to the club by booing every touch Ferdinand had on the ball during pre-season fixtures.

The defender's agent, Pini Zahivi, always said his client would ink a deal in due course when both parties were satisfied with personal terms, believed to be £100,000 a week. 

Negotiations were thought to have broken down whilst in Asia with Real Madrid and Barcelona keeping a close eye on the situation, however, the deal has now been resolved.

"His training has been terrific. He has given 100% on the football field, that is all we should concern ourselves with," said Sir Alex Ferguson.

"He is a Manchester United player, he is pulling that strip on and I expect the fans to get behind him."
