United in Kuyt Race

Manchester United have joined the race to sign Dirk Kuyt from Feyenoord to add to the striking options currently available at Old Trafford.

Ruud van Nistelrooy has reiterated his intentions to stay at Old Trafford despite tempting links to La Liga giants Barcelona and Real

Sir Alex Ferguson has kept quiet on any transfer activity before the August 31st deadline but ruled out a move for Bayern Munich's Michael Ballack however.

Everton, Liverpool and Newcastle United have openly admitted expressing interest in the Dutchman while Tottenham Hotspur have also been heavily linked with a swoop.

Ruud van Nistelrooy and Edwin van der Sar strongly recommend fellow countryman Kuyt to Sir Alex Ferguson, who has previously sent scouts to watch Feyenoord in action. United still have money left from their summer transfer kitty available.

The 25-year-old was the Dutch league's top goalscorer last season with 29 goals in 34 matches.
