United Players in England Squad

Manchester United trio Rio Ferdinand, Kieran Richardson and Wayne Rooney have all been selected in Sven Goran Eriksson's England squad who fact Wales and Northern Ireland.

Ruud van Nistelrooy has reiterated his intentions to stay at Old Trafford despite tempting links to La Liga giants Barcelona and Real

England will be looking to bounce back from the embarrassing 4-1 defeat to Denmark by recording two home nation victories against Wales at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on 3 September and Northern Ireland on the 7th.

Manchester City's David James has been dropped in favour of Chris Kirkland while Stephen Warnock of Liverpool and Charlton duo Luke Young and Darren Bent also make the squad. There's no place for Alan Smith but Andy Johnson gets a recall.
