Manchester United's Gary Neville will be ruled out for up to 6 weeks with a groin injury after undergoing an operation. Neville's injury adds to the long term injuries of Gabriel Heinze and Roy Keane.
"Gary went in for an operation last night and his loss is a big blow for the lad and for us," confirmed Sir Alex Ferguson, who is sure to feel the loss over the next feel weeks.
However, the likes of John O'Shea are set to get their chance at right-back in the England international's absence.
"We feel it's better to get the situation sorted now and have him back for the rest of the season."
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was also ruled out yesterday with another long-term injury.
