Carlos Queiroz has attacked Manchester United supporters after booing aimed at Sir Alex Ferguson following Saturday's 2-1 defeat at home to Blackburn Rovers.

Manchester United assistant boss Carlos Queiroz has launched an attack on Red Devils supporters after booing and jeering roared from the stands after the recent 2-1 reverse at home to Blackburn Rovers.

Disillusioned by Malcolm Glazer’s transatlantic takeover, United fans were left frustrated by the 4-5-1 tactics employed by Sir Alex Ferguson for Saturday’s Lancashire derby. The assistant boss also hinted that the popular 4-4-2 system will not be used in the foreseeable future.

The switch to a 4-4-2 system was made, but United continued to squander opportunities and Morten Gamst Pedersen's brace secured victory for Rovers.
In a powerful attack on fans, the Portuguese coach said: "People have been crying out for us to use a 4-4-2 formation and we played with that system for the first time and lost.

"We played what the public wanted and lost. This is why in football stupidity and imagination have no limits."

Pressure is now mounting on Sir Alex Ferguson ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Benfica. United already trail Premiership leaders Chelsea by 10 points, and with the more pessimistic fans already dismissing any chance of domestic glory; the European Cup could be United’s most likely area for success this term.
