McClair Records Reserve Victory

Brian McClair's first game in charge of Manchester United's Reserve team, albeit on a temporary basis, proved a very successful one as the Red Devils thumped Wovles 4-1.

McClair, a United legend, is likely to be made the full-time second-string manager in the next few weeks due to the departure of Ricky Sbragia to Bolton Wanderers yesterday.

Striking duo Giuseppe Rossi and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, along with Lee Martin and David Fox, were on target at the New Bucks Head Stadium but took after half-time for the young Red Devils to secure the win.

Rossi broke the deadlock midway through the first half with a piledriving left-footed volley but Wolves replied just after the interval with a superb 25-yard shot from Stephen Gleeson.

It didn't take long for United to recover, 3 minutes infact, as Stefan Postma's poor play lead to an Ebanks-Blake goal. Lee Martin added a third to United's tally later on before David Fox rounded off the scoring with just minutes on the clock.
