Ferguson Hopeful for Giggs

Sir Alex Ferguson is hoping to include Welshman Ryan Giggs in his squad who face Lille in the Champions League on Tuesday, at Old Trafford.

Ferguson revealed that Giggs didn't feature in the Premiership win over Sunderland due to a hamstring injury picked up on international duty last week.

He said: "It's a bit of a handicap, international football, and I worry about that. Because they are all away doing different types of training and travels. Giggs picked up a little injury for Wales. He has tightness of the hamstring after playing two games in four days for Wales.

"Hopefully, he will be alright for Tuesday. Sitting on a bus for three hours doesn't help it so it was better to leave him behind on Saturday.

"Ruud van Nistelrooy had two exceptionally hard games against Czech Republic and Macedonia. Park Ji-Sung travelled 14 hours back home and didn't train until Friday lunchtime," added the Scotsman.

"We banked on his natural stamina, he has abundant stamina, and we banked on that, though the confidence from his last game would help."
