Ruud Van Nistelrooy has laughed off speculation linking him with an end-of-season move to AC Milan. However, the 29-year-old has revealed his frustration at a lack of silverware since arriving at Old Trafford five seasons ago.
Ruud Van Nistelrooy has committed his future to Manchester United, rubbishing speculation of a summer move to Italian giants AC Milan.
"I don't want to say anything about that because the fact is that United are in my heart. My only aim to stay for several more years in Manchester." said the Netherlands star, prolific with the Red Devils since arriving at Old Trafford five years ago.
The Serie A side have been linked with a bid for the highly-rated forward at the end of the campaign, with the press underlining Van Nistelrooy's frustration at a lack of silverware as his motivation for a transfer to the continent. The 29-year-old has won a single Premiership crown and one F.A Cup medal with United.
"When I joined United they had won seven out of the last nine Premiership titles, won the Champions League in 1999 and also the treble," he added.
"The expectations for everyone then, and I suppose myself, was that United were going to win a similar number of titles, but football is not as simple as that."
However Van Nistelrooy, who has also been linked with Real Madrid and Barcelona during his United tenure, is optimistic about the future and feels a young United side is capable of bringing plenty more silverware to the Old Trafford trophy cabinet.
"We are in a situation now where we are improving. We are building a team that can be the best again if we continue the progress we are making."
