Jonathan Spector has joined fellow Premiership outfit West Ham United in a deal worth £500,000. The 20-year-old made only eight Manchester United appearances since his arrival at Old Trafford in 2003, and will be eager to make this new challenge work.
West Ham United have completed the signing of Jonathan Spector from Manchester United for a fee believed to be in the region of £500,000.
Spector made only eight appearances for United since joining the club three years ago. The American always showed great promise and is versatile across the back, but never really broke into the first-team and spent the entirety of last season on loan at Charlton Athletic. He made 24 appearances with the London club but failed to truly impress the Red Devils' coaching staff.
"We have worked very hard to secure this transfer as we believe Jonathan is going to be a big asset to West Ham United." said Hammers director Scott Duxbury.
"We would like to welcome Jonathan to Upton Park and wish him all the very best for his future career here."
ManUtdWeb would like to wish the youngster, who missed out on a place in the United States' World Cup squad with a shoulder injury, all the best of luck at Upton Park.
