Danny to Stay ? (News Update)

Well it looks like popular midfielder, Danny Williams, could be staying on at Aggboro' for another season. All the latest, as Albion reserves agree groundshare and the new East Stand flies out the ground.

NEWS UPDATE
The latest from Aggborough suggests that fans favourite and player of the year, Danny Williams is now set to stay with Harriers. It seems that Danny has now had a change of heart and wants to stay another season. He did admit however to wanting to move higher up in the game, which is fair enough. However, this summer is the summer of choice for football managers across the country, and maybe Danny is not as in demand as he may have been in different circumstances. With money so tight in the game, all clubs are tightening their belts and many players have been released.
We are not sure yet if Danny will definitely sign, this will be resolved when Manager Ian Britton returns from holiday. It is understood that Danny wants a 12 month deal. There have been rumours that the club offered him a 2 year contract. Of course if Danny was to leave now, we would get some form of compensation but next year he could leave completely free under a Bosman. No one can blame Danny, after all he’s looking after his best interests. However, this Bosman ruling, along with transfer windows and alike is killing the game. the old system of tribunals worked perfectly well in this country, but as usual UEFA and Europe put their noses in and ruined things. I will save my full fury on UEFA for a separate story, but to say that my Euro scepticism is increased by the games European body is an understatement. So hopefully good news if Danny signs and we wish him all the best, in fact, it would be nice if he progressed higher, and nice if we could get a fee, and his old club Wrexham could get a slice as well, just to be fair.
In other news, the club announced this week that West Bromwich Albion’s reserve side will be playing some reserve fixtures at Aggborough this winter. This is good news financially for the club. We also here that season ticket sales are going very well. Don’t forget, this weekend (Saturday 7th June) is the cut off date for discounted prices. The East Stand is looking good now as the main structure is now in place. Recently I took a look at some of the plans and it looks good. There are two refreshment kiosks in it, hopefully you might be able to get a pint in there too, but I’m not sure if the club are going to do that.
With the new stand, Kidderminster is finally getting a building which is worthwhile. The new college is a waste of time and car park space. Why did they move, other than to grease palms? Did the College obtain University status ? No. in fact now they cannot expand being in the Town Centre. More money was also wasted with the new court on Comberton Hill as well, is it a Crown Court ? Again, no. The new East Stand, had to be built and will definitely improve the ground. Even in the new Town Centre everyone is up in arms about the “piano building “. Which is a windowless eyesore, blow it up, lets have a cinema. Then you can watch League football, and go to a Cinema without leaving Town.
