News Update

so a busy week at Aggborough. AS we look forward to another season for Danny Williams, Striker Drewe Broughton leaves for Southend. All the news from the week updated.

NEWS ROUND UP
So this week started well with us safe in the knowledge that Danny Williams has signed a new contract. Then it ends with the loss of striker Drewe Broughton, who has completed his move to Division Three rivals Southend United. May we take this opportunity to wish Drewe all the best, apart from our two meetings with the Shrimpers of course.
So, with Drewe’s departure, along with Ian Foster also leaving, leaves us with just two strikers on the books. However, I wouldn’t be too worried. My sources indicate that Britt has got at least one possibly two replacements lined up. Not sure who, but I believe that we wont be too disappointed. Of course, Drewe was rumoured to be one of the better wage earners and now Britt can use some of that money to strengthen the squad. Drewe was a good player, but he never quite did it for us. His commitment was never in question but hopefully his replacement can be just as committed but a little more successful in front of goal.
Other news sees the club tomorrow (Friday 13th June) unveil the new home shirt. Danny Williams is going to be playing model and the kit is to be revealed on the official website (www.harriers.co.uk). The kit is apparently going to be available in August. I also here that season ticket sales have gone very well and hopefully this will ease the monetary situation. The new stand is going very well and the seats are going in now.
A bit of news on a couple of former Harriers. It emerged this week that our Conference winning captain Mark Marsh has joined Southern League Nuneaton Borough, as Assistant Manager. This was after Marshy decided to finally hang his boots up, after helping Accrington Stanley into the Conference. I now hear that our former Manager, Jan Molby, has joined Marsh at Nuneaton in a coaching capacity. Strange move for the big man really, but I suppose he just wants to keep is name involved a bit. Wouldn’t mind hazarding a guess that former striker Ian Foster might end up at Manor Park as well.
So now I must bid farewell for a week or so as Iam off on holiday. Don’t forget the fixtures come out next Thursday, lets hope we get a good game to start with. Finally before I go, just an invitation to all Kiddie fans who like doing a bit of writing about Harriers or footie in general.
