Tommorow night (21st July) sees Harriers first home friendly against Leicester City. The main debutant tomorrow, will not be a player, but Harriers new East Stand.

THE FOXES ARE COMING

Kidderminster Harriers warmed up for their first real test of pre season with a comfortable win over Midland Alliance outfit Boldmere. Five of the trialists got on the scoresheet, and the other goal was an own goal, maybe he was trying to impress Britt as well. Unfortunately I didn’t attend the game myself, as I had a wedding to attend. Fortunately the night “do” was in the Aggborough Suite, so I spent a good hour eyeing up the new stand, until I was forced into some socialising. For the record the Harriers scorers were: OG, John Williams (2), Kyle Lightbourne, Mark Danks and Craig Wilding.

So it’s the first home friendly tomorrow and Premiership newcomers Leicester City will be in town. Their manager Micky Adams has made many new signings over the course of the summer and hopefully some of the Leicester faithful will make the trip. For Harriers fans it will be the first chance to see the new East Stand. I think it looks terrific, not sure whether to sit in it or stand or sit elsewhere so I can look at it. On the pitch it will give us a chance to see new signing Matt Gadesby and the many trial players who will looking to impress and win a contract. By all accounts they all did rather well at Boldmere but one must remember the opposition. Tomorrow night it will be very different.

Leicester have made some significant signings over the summer, former England striker Les Ferdinand and Craig Hignett being two recent additions. Leicester finished runner up to Portsmouth in last seasons Division One and are some peoples favourites to go straight back down.

However with these recent additions the Foxes might surprise a few. They also include England keeper Ian Walker, Turkish International Muzzy Isset, and another new boy, ex Forest midfielder Riccardo Scimeca in their ranks. So a Harriers win is unlikely unless they field a second string. Still it will be nice to see new opposition at Aggborough, although I’m not sure if this will get them flocking through the gates. Would estimate a crowd of around 2000 for tomorrow.

Bit of information then, regards tomorrow night. The prices are for seats or terraces and its ADULTS £10.00 OAP £5.00 UNDER 16S £2.00, not bad prices really. According to the official site, Leicester fans, like all visitors this season, will be housed in the East Stand. not only will fans get to see the new stand but the club have also got new goalposts as well. Having had a sneak look last night, they will be an improvement.
