Not good at present for Kidderminster Harriers, who fell to a 1-0 defeat on Saturday to Bristol Rovers. What has gone wrong after a cracking start?

NOT GOING TO WELL
Well its not going too well for Harriers at the moment. Following on from a reasonable performance against Oxford, Harriers slipped to their third league defeat of the season at Bristol Rovers. In the game Harriers changed their formation with Bo Henriksen playing up front on his own, with Dean Bennett playing just behind. The game also saw the debut of loanee Lloyd Dyer and the full debut of summer signing Matt Gadesby. One player missing was another loan signing Adam Murray. By all accounts we didn’t really force ourselves on the opposition and maybe deserved a draw at best. It wasn’t to be as Kidder went down 1-0.
This coming Saturday sees us take on Macclesfield away and lets hope for a better performance and ultimately result. Harriers manager Ian Britton has taken striker Andy Bishop on loan for a second month and lets hope Bish can show us what he is capable of. This season it seems our problem is scoring goals. Last season Bo scored them for fun but the Dane has struggled a bit this season. Last years goal supply was also well supported from on loan Midfielder JJ Melligan, and like most Kidder fans I wish we could get him back. Of course we may get to see more of Adam Murray, with the Derby youngster available on a free transfer. However wages might be a problem according to some rumours. With Adam looking to move on, we may be pipped by a bigger club.
So can we get our act together up front, with our current options. To be honest I’m not too sure. It looks like the end for young Matt Lewis. He has gone out on loan again, this time to Southern League Hinkley. Matt, as in his other loan spells last term, scored for his new side on Saturday. Unfortunately I don’t think he will make it with us. Big John Williams has looked ok, in the bits that I’ve seen him and maybe given a chance could make more of an impact. The two which seem in favour at the moment are Henriksen and Bishop. Both look to be down on their luck at present. Sometimes I do think Bo works better alongside a big target man. Last term we had Drewe and some may now see his departure as a mistake. However given the rumoured wages involved, it may have been a good move. What were really looking for is a similar player to Broughton, but one who could get 15 goals a season. Plus someone without the bookings and sendings off.
So lets hope we can re launch the season at the Moss Rose on Saturday. One player who will be missing is Adam Willis. Adam misses the game through suspension, after his undeserved red card at Cheltenham. I would imagine Matt Gadesby will step in for Willis, who has recently captained the side ahead of the dropped Sean Flynn. whilst mentioning Central Defenders, Redditch were keen to take Lee Ayres on loan but Britt turned it down.
