Harriers were held to a 1-1 draw at Macclesfield on Saturday. An improved display by Kiddy and their many midfielders. The word on the street is of a new striker soon.

MACC 1 KIDDER 1
BRIEF REPORT
Harriers eventually had to settle for a point in this battle of the former Conference Champions. To be honest, I would have settled for that prior to the game but in the end the manner of conceding an injury time equaliser was disappointing.
Harriers kicked off playing their familiar 3-5-2 formation. A surprise was the inclusion of Adie Smith in place of suspended Adam Willis. Most people expected Matt Gadesby to fill in. new boy Robert Betts made his debut in midfield. The first period was quite scrappy. Macc did have quite a lot of possession early on but really failed to test Brocky. Harriers best effort came when Andy Bishop headed against the underside of the bar, however the linesman’s flag was up for offside in any case. Kiddy did take the lead though on 40 minutes when Danny Williams struck a low left foot shot from the edge of the area, and the ball went in off the post.
Macc stepped up the pressure after the break and did have some proper chances. Brocky though was equal to them and did pull of a couple of spectacular saves. Kiddy had a few chances as well, Bo Henrisken saw one shot saved by Myhill and another go narrowly wide. Britt used all 3 subs, John Williams replaced Bo, Sam Shilton came on for Lloyd Dyer who was fading badly, and Flynny came on for Adam Murray.
Late on Kiddy had two chances to kill the game off. Debutant Betts was clean through but shot at the keeper and then sub Flynn scuffed his shot and Myhill, in the Macc goal gathered easily. Just when it looked like we would hold out Macc got their injury time leveller. Colin Little toe poked home after getting clear of Adie Smith. There was little time to try and get a winner and the standard poor referee blew for time.
So overall a reasonable performance. Not brilliant by any means but hopefully this may stop the rot. The only way to tell will be on Tuesday night when we take on Scunthorpe at Aggborough. It seems our defence isn’t too bad and the midfield is ok, which it should be given how many are in there, its just the front line which is struggling. The word on the streets is that Britt is looking to bring in another striker. Lets hope its soon, and he is a good un.

Still reasonably happy, lets hope the mystery striker who everyone is awaiting is worth that wait and fires up the season.
LDV VANS TROPHY
Harriers have been drawn away to Queens Park Rangers in the 1st round of the LDV. Quite a good draw really, although it will mean a midweek trip to the capital.
