Kidderminster Harriers are going through a bit of a crisis at present. Harriers havent won since they beat Darlo in August and are now without a win in seven games. Whats going wrong ??

KIDDY IN KRISIS
Firstly, may I apologise for the lack of updates on this site. Anyway back to business and my views on trouble times at Aggborough.
The season wasn’t going well, after a brilliant start as I made my way to Macclesfield the other Saturday. To be honest, the most I was hoping for was a point. After Danny’s strike and a reasonable performance up to the last minute we nearly got all three. However Macc equalised as we know and we had to settle for that.
Going into the Scunny game, I was reasonably optimistic and I was hoping we could turn the corner. Once again the failure to score haunted us, with Bish going close with a header in the first half. After the break we really looked as if we were getting closer to a breakthrough. Then the sprinkler system decided to start up and the ref put his standard mark on the match. Britt, in frustration booted a ball down the tunnel and was sent to the stands, after the 4th official, behaved like his schooldays as a milk monitor and told sir on him. Not that it changed the match in itself but it did unsettle the occasion. Of course Scunny then went on to win the game with 2 goals, maybe the first one was offside, I don’t know, but I doubt the lino did either.
Sorry to keep on about officials, but let me explain. I find it difficult to slag off our team and I cant help but defend them. Yes I know we are not playing well and are terribly out of form. This could lead to mangers and players losing their jobs. Yet we witness referees make fools of themselves virtually every week. Its not just them, it’s the rules now. Unless something is sorted, the game will lose popularity. Anyway enough of that and on to Saturdays clash with Lincoln.
Against the Imps, Kiddy did start well and actually scored a goal! Young Lloyd Dyer scored his first ever goal to give us the lead. However we failed to build on that as Lincoln imposed themselves on us. They equalised with a fine scissors kick effort and then scored, what turned out to be the winner with a looping header.
So what is going wrong ? Well a few things really. We do need another striker and now we have got one. Mikeal Antoine Currier looks a good prospect and seems a bit of a bully. That’s exactly what we need. Drewe was a bit like that last year, but was just a target man. Mikeal looks like a pacy lad who can run at people and unsettle them. Just in is brief appearance from the bench on Saturday you could tell he was creating problems. I hope he can be the catalyst for a revival. Bo and Bish havnet worked really. They need to play alongside someone like Mikeal. Big John may be too old now. That’s my hope in any case, of course the other areas need improving as well.
So the pressure is on Britt now to get us up the table. Some fans are calling for his head already. My view would be to give him more time. One thing which would help, in my opinion is an Assistant. It would take some pressure off him, add an extra opinion, and be a half way house between the players and management. Of course it all comes down to money.
Some fans are critical of the board as well, saying that they lack ambition. Come on, wake up, this is Kidderminster, in the midlands, the home of fickledome. The board are doing all they can. We are performing how you would expect for our gates and subsequent income. As I said though, this is Kidderminster, and that’s the problem. The gates haven’t increased since we joined the League and they probably wont for a long time. Kidderminster woke up to the fact we had no hospital when it was too late. Then we let the cinema go and now want another but some fools want to preserve a disused warehouse in its place. There going to shut some local schools as well. Not that any of that has much to do with football but it does show one thing. The townsfolk will only realise what Harriers are achieving and what they have achieved when its too late. There is nothing we can do about it.
All we can do is carry on supporting Harriers whatever way we can and accept that’s the way it is. Let hope we can return to form and climb the league and this is just a blip. I hope we can, and that Britt can to do it for us. After all, its not like he’s enjoying this either is he ? No one is, fans, players and club staff. This is not a club together message, its just the way it is. The thing is with Harriers, it hasn’t happened that often in the past and lets hope it doesn’t last.
